  1. Why is bike fit important?

It doesn't necessarily mean that your bike fit position is optimal just because nothing hurts when you ride. Many bike riders are not aware that they are riding incorrectly. This has a metabolic cost and may have long-term health consequences for your body.

The first step to enjoying your riding is purchasing a bicycle that is the right size for your body and riding goals. A bike, even the proper size, might not fit well. The process of fine-tuning your bike to fit your body, riding preferences, and riding intentions is known as bike fitting.

  2. Should I consider a bike fit?

Yes. Every cyclist should consider a bike fit, and most should have at least a basic bike fit. Also, if you are fit once, you are not fit forever. Bikes and bodies change.

  1. What Bike Size do I need?

The right bike size can be influenced by several variables, such as flexibility or personal anthropometrics (refers to the measurement of the human individual). The sizing chart which can be found on our website is a solid starting point to choose the right frame size. Choosing the right bike size depends upon your riding style, your priority, your height and the type of bike. A proper and correct fit bike will be more comfortable, efficient and fun to ride.

Please note that size chart is an indicative measure based on best case scenarios possible and assumptions. Hence it is important and advisable to understand how to read the chart.

You still have confusion and doubts on deciding the bike size, we advise you to visit our nearest authorized Scott Dealer and get a Bike Fit done. In case of more information you can write to us at cs@sportnetwork.in or call us 8080754321

  3. What is Bike Fit and why is it needed?

Bike Fit is an activity that mates the bike geometry to the cyclist’s body measurements, to ensure an optimum riding position and thus helps you get the most out of your bike from a performance perspective. Each bike brand has a different geometry and a different bike set up. A medium size frame of A Brand does not necessarily mean it is the same Medium size in Brand B. Similarly, a person who is 6ft in height will not have the same body dimensions as another cyclist who is 6ft in height. This is where the Bike Fit service comes in handy. You can check the size chart available against each bike available on our website or in case of confusion you can visit the nearest Authorized Scott/Bergamont dealer to get Bike Fit done.

Running
  1. What model of SCOTT Running shoes is right for me?

Running shoes should be comfortably snug around your midfoot and heel, with about a thumbthumb's width of space between your longest toe and the end of the shoe. Generally, your running shoe size is half a size to a size and a half bigger than your dress shoe size. The reason you want this much space is twofold. First of all, when you run your feet will swell. Any shoe that is a little tight will soon become numbing. Secondly, when you run your foot will slide forward a little in your shoe. If your toes hit the end of your shoe repeatedly, the impact will cause you to bruise and eventually lose your toenails. If this happens, your shoes are definitely too small!

Please refer to our below size chart:

    image chart
  2. How long will pair of my running shoes will last?

A good running shoe will last approximately 600-800 kilometres. If you run 50km per week, that's 3-4 months. Any walking or training around you do in the shoes also impacts their life, if you want your shoes to last longer, only use them for running. Alternating pairs of shoes can also extend their life (within that 600-800 kilometre window). This is because every time you wear your shoes, the midsole compresses. It takes 24-48 hours for the midsole to fully decompress. If it's not allowed to do so, the shoe will not cushion you as well and will wear out more quickly.

  3. Can I Put orthopaedic inserts into my running shoes?

If your orthopaedic inserts are specially made for sports, you can easily take out the SCOTT insoles and put your orthopaedic insoles inside. This is recommended only for shoes with neutral support, do not use your own insoles with medial support shoes.

  4. How can I prevent blisters?

Don't wear cotton socks! When you sweat, cotton gets wet and soggy and stays wet and soggy. This softens the skin and causes blisters. Synthetic socks, made out of materials like Coolmax and Drynamix, will wick the moisture away from your feet to keep them dry and blister free.

  5. Do you offer replacement insoles?

Yes, you can buy it from our website.

  6. Do you offer replacement shoe laces?

No, we don’t offer shoe laces.

  7. How can I wash my SCOTT running shoes?

Your running shoes are a training device which need regularly care and cleaning to ensure a longer lifetime. If your shoes are really dirty, let them dry and brush off the mud and coarse dirt thoroughly without any water. Do not use water, as this will result in the penetration of water and mud into the sensitive mesh material. Once the coarse dirt is off the shoe you can wash the shoes with a cloth using water and gentle soap. If your inner soles are dirty you can take them out and hand wash them with warm water and soap. The outsole is robust and durable and can be washed with a strong brush and water.

  8. Can I wash my SCOTT running shoes in a washing machine?

You should not wash your running shoes in the washing machine, as the temperature and the laundry detergent will damage the adhesive bonding between the sole and the tooling. Furthermore, the flexibility of the sole construction will decrease due to temperature and water which causes harder EVA midsoles. Reflective prints and design colour print might peel off easier due to the temperature and moisture during the washing process.

Motosports
  1. How should I dispose my old helmet?

A used helmet, even if it has not been damaged, should be always be destroyed. Do not sell or give away old helmets as the protective foam contours to the shape of the original rider’s head and will not provide a new user with full protection. Helmets are designed to absorb only ONE impact. After your helmet has endured any impact, the absorption liner portion of your helmet will have dispersed the energy from the impact, thus rendering the liner compacted and therefore compromised. Even if there is NO VISIBLE damage to the shell, the helmet’s usefulness is expired after one impact.

  2. Can I personally modify my helmet?

It is extremely dangerous to modify your helmet by drilling holes, cutting the shell and/or absorption liner. Any such actions will weaken the helmet and may cause serious injury in the event of an accident. Removing any parts such as, vents, liners, cheek pads, mouth guards, rubber trimming, etc. before use will also disrupt the intended design of the helmet and may expose you to severe injury or death in the event of an accident. Do not paint your helmet as the chemicals of the paint may adversely affect the materials used in your helmet, thereby weakening it.

  3. Can I Use my helmet after an impact?

Helmets are designed to absorb only ONE impact. After your helmet has endured any impact, the absorption liner portion of your helmet will have dispersed the energy from the impact, thus rendering the liner compacted and therefore compromised. Even if there is NO VISIBLE damage to the shell, the helmet’s usefulness is expired after one impact.

  4. Are SCOTT Goggles compatible with all helmets?

SCOTT goggles are engineered to engage flawlessly with a variety of helmets.

  5. How to wear helmet correctly with proper fitting?

While it is not possible for any helmet to protect the user against all foreseeable impacts and accidents, the proper use of this helmet will provide a far greater level of protection in the event of an accident than if no helmet was worn. For the helmet to function properly and to help reduce the risk of permanent injury or death, it is imperative that the helmet fits securely and firmly on the head and that all retention straps are properly fastened. When the retention strap is properly fastened it should not be possible, in most instances, for the helmet to be removed from the head by either rolling the helmet towards the rear or front. The helmet must NOT be too low or high on the head because it will interfere with your line of sight. Eyes should be central to the eye aperture.

  6. How do I choose the right helmet size?

IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT THE FIT OF THE HELMET BE SNUG FOR IT TO PERFORM PROPERLY.

    • Grasp the chinstraps (see diagram 1) and expand the helmet opening.
    • Slide your head into the helmet. If the helmet does not fit snugly or if the helmet feels loose in any way, you should try a smaller size.
    • To check for proper fitting, place the helmet on your head.
    • Measure your head size by passing a tape measure around your head approximately 2 cm above the eyebrow line
    • Make sure the helmet lining fits snugly around your head and that the cheek pads are pressed close onto your cheeks.
    • There should be no space between your brow and the lining.
    • Take hold of the helmet on each side and try to move the helmet up and down as well as side to side (see diagram 2).
    • You should feel the skin on your face and head being pulled along with the helmet.
    • If the helmet is able to move freely without rubbing your skin, the helmet is too large, and you need a smaller size.

  7. How do I fasten the chin strap on my helmet?
    • Pass the strap through both rings starting with the inside ring.
    • Separate the rings and pull the free end of strap back through the inside ring only.
    • Secure the free end of the snap using the red connectors.
    • Proper tightening of the chinstrap is critical to the functionality of this helmet.
    • If you are able to pull down on the fastened chinstrap from under your chin and create slack, it is not properly fastened through the D-Rings.
    • Follow the steps below to ensure proper fastening.

  8. How to remove and install visor on helmet?
    • Remove the two front screws from the visor.
    • Press down on the visor and give it a firm push toward the front.

    • Avoid damage to the visor by over tightening the screws.
  9. 350 EVO, 350 PRO, 350 KIDS HELMETS

  10. How to take care of your helmet?

It is essential that the goggles worn with all off-road helmets are always clean and the lens is replaced regularly. Before purchasing your goggles, ensure the goggles fit your helmet correctly and that they do not interfere with your vision and allow the maximum peripheral vision.

  11. How to remove inner liner and cheek pads?
    • To remove the cheek pads, gently pull the padding off from the three snap buttons holding it in place and pull out the retaining flap from underneath the lower helmet beading.
    • Repeat on the other side.

  4. How do I restore water repellence on SCOTT Motorsports garments and gloves?

Upon production, SCOTT GORE-TEX® garments and gloves have a water repellent treatment. This treatment prevents the fabric from attracting moisture and dirt, while simultaneously giving optimal moisture vapour transportation to the fabric. Over time, the water repellence will be worn away (especially in vulnerable places like the seat, knees, shoulders, elbows and hands). In order to maintain this water repellence, the garments and gloves should be re-impregnated after each wash (before drying), or when the water repellence is no longer performing. For water repellence treatments, you can use a re-impregnation spray which ensures that only the outer side of the garment and glove will be water repellent. This will again, optimize the moisture transportation of your SCOTT product.

  5. Do I need to pedal with an E-Bike?

Yes, BERGAMONT only sells E-Bikes with pedal assist. This means that if you dont pedal, nothing happens. This assistance goes generally from +50% of additional power to +300% depending on the mode.

  6. What kind of maintenance do I need to do on my E-Bike and how often?

The maintenance is pretty limited and simple. By yourself you can wash it, apply oil on the chain, wipe it down and check brake pad wear. We recommend to visit your local dealer for scheduled maintenance work as specified in the product manual to avoid any mechanical issues.

  7. Can I do the maintenance by myself on my E-Bike?

Everything related to the drive unit needs to be carried out by the manufacturer for safety and security reasons.

  8. Can I wash my E-Bike?

As an E-Bike is water resistant you can wash it as you would wash a normal bike.

For improving the bearing life-cycle, do not use a high-pressure washer. Once it's clean, wipe off the bike and lubricate the chain with of bit of oil in order to improve the lifetime of your drive train. We recommend to wipe the electrical contact plates of the battery afterwards as well.

  9. Can I ride my E-Bike when it's raining or in the mud?

Both the engine and the battery is water resistant, so there is no problem for riding in wet conditions.

  10. Can I take an E-Bike onboard a plane?

Getting on a plane with an E-Bike requires special authorization, please contact your airline before booking your ticket.

  11. What are Amp hours (Ah) and Watt hours (Wh) for an E-Bike?

Both refer to the capacity of the battery. The higher these numbers are, the more autonomy the battery has but the, larger, heavier and more expensive the battery is. Standard capacity is 500Wh.

  12. How long does it takes to charge my E-Bike battery?

Nowadays most of the batteries (500wh) need around 4.5-5 hours to be charged completely and less than 3 hours for 80%

  13. Are E-Bike batteries fixed on the frame or can they be removed?

The battery has a retaining system to secure it against theft. You need a key to remove the battery from the frame but no further tools are required.

  14. What do I do if I lose my E-Bike's battery's keys?

All BERGAMONT E-Bike keys come with a serial number. As soon as you have your bike, register your key on Mobile Security. This allows you to order a replacement key whenever you want.

If you don't have this number anymore, please contact your dealer.

  15. How should I store the battery of my E-Bike?

For longer storage we recommend you to stock the battery at ambient temperature, ideally between 18-20° Celsius. Avoid leaving your battery on your bike during cold nights or directly exposing it to the sun.

  16. Does my battery get damaged if i dont charge it all the way?

With Lithium Ion batteries interim charging doesn't matter. As all BERGAMONT bikes are equipped with Lithium batteries, feel free to charge your battery as you wish. For the first charging cycle please read the user manual and follow the indications.

  17. Can I plug any battery into the battery mount of my E-Bike?

Always use the original battery and the original charger of your E-Bike to avoid any issues or defects.
