During the in-mold manufacturing process, the outer shell of polycarbonate material is fused with the helmet’s impact absorbent foam liner, creating a super lightweight outer shell. With reduced weight and bulk surrounding the head, in-mold helmets are more comfortable than traditional helmets.

SCOTT engineers worked with Team ORICA-GreenEDGE to determine a clear set of objectives when designing a Split Aero helmet. The Team asked for a helmet with the lowest drag coefficient possible, an advenced optical solution, a fully integrated visor, a dynamic ventilation system, and of course an adjustable, comfortable fit. We made it.

Mips Evolve is a rotational management system that not only can lower the energies transferred to the head during an impact or crash, but does this with added style, comfort and fit. The system consists of a Low Friction Layer (LFL) that is less than 1mm thick with a low friction coating that lessens the friction towards the energy absorbing layer. The LFL is tailor-made for every helmet and size and sits between the impact absorbing layer and the padding. The Mips® safety system is designed to work together with the ventilation channels and padding to give the user a safer helmet with great style, fit and comfort. It features and optimized ergonomic fit designed to work seamlessly with the helmet and padding. It also features an easy to use ergonomic dial enabling one handed fit adjustment.
